Founded in 1924, and presently the largest business organization in the Northeast region of Iowa, the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce (DACC) ranges from home-based businesses to major manufacturing companies. Currently, there are four hundred and fifty (450) members of the DACC.
The first President of the DACC was J.A. Nelson. Currently, working with a board of fifteen (15), the President of DACC is Jayme Folkedahl.
The DACC's Mission Statement: "The Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce is a professional organization providing resources and networking opportunities to promote our members and advocate for growth of the Decorah area business community."
A major focus for the DACC right now is a challenge to the Decorah area to "Pay It Local". This means increasing local spending by 5%. The impact of the small shift in spending will dramatically affect the Decorah area business economy.
